Job Details

PENNY is looking for individuals with experince with Seafood fabrication and handling. This is a 5 day a week 8 hr shift postion for morning (AM) only.

The Prep Cook is an integral individual who assists the BOH staff in preparing food, maintains a safe and clean food environment and takes on other culinary tasks as delegated. You will be expected to maintain focus, be detail oriented, be comfortable working in a kitchen environment, and upholding the standard set by management and ownership at Claud.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all food items as directed with strict adherence to the standards at PENNY while maintaining a sanitary work environment.
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitation, organization, and maintenance of the kitchen.
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of all kitchen equipment, including knifework.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with both the BOH team and FOH team.
  • Participate in deep cleaning of the BOH space.
  • Take direction from BOH management as required for new tasks not directly outlined in the job description but fall within reasonable scope of your job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Prep Cook, Commis, or similar role in an upscale restaurant, preferably michelin.
  • Ability to successfully train new Prep Cooks on each station.
  • Ability to assist the culinary team in receiving goods for the restaurant.
  • A proven track record of dependability, a continuous focus on learning and development, and a history of consistently and successfully fulfilling all role responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $22.00)
