Redwood Hospitality is seeking a Host to join the team at their newest venture, Cafe Mado. This cafe is more than just a cafe, as it is taking over the home of our Michelin-starred Oxalis (while Oxalis moves to a new location), bringing a more casual but similarly thoughtful and hospitable offering to a neighborhood we have called home for over five years. Cafe Mado will be the third project from Redwood Hospitality, after Oxalis, Place des Fetes and Laurel Bakery. Cafe Mado serves a full service lunch and dinner in our Atrium, Dining Room, and Garden, with coffee, Laurel Bakery pastries, breakfast items and pre-prepared foods offered in the front room of the restaurant.
Cafe Mado is looking for a Host for our lunch and dinner service. We are seeking someone that can develop personal relationships with guests with ease, who pays as much attention to detail as we do, whos looking to be part of a prideful team. You will play a support role in managing the book during service, with some Resy/phone correspondence before service as well.
The ideal candidate has:
- 1+ year Host experience in NYC or another major city
- Extensive knowledge of Resy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to think on your feet
- Strong problem solving skills
- A track record of developing a good rapport and personal relationship with guests
- A great memory for names and faces
- A flexible schedule with open availability
