Joo Ok is a contemporary Korean fine dining restaurant, which received 1 Michelin star in 2024. Led by Chef Shin Chang Ho, highly decorated and recognized for his commitment to hansik [Korean Cuisine]. Joo Ok is relocating from Seoul, Korea to NYCs Koreatown, opening this spring.

Position summary:
Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, guiding them through the menu, taking and delivering orders with accuracy and grace, and ensuring an excellent dining experience. Maintaining clear communication with guests and the team is essential.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1+ years experience as a server in a reputable, well-regarded restaurant

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Team-oriented and positive attitude

  • Must be able to stand, lift, and bend for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

Host Responsibilities:
  • Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-pressure environment
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming demeanor at all times
  • Provide knowledgeable, warm, and attentive service
  • Attend daily pre-shift meetings to stay updated on menu changes, specials, and service notes

  • Guide guests through the menu, including confirming any allergens, dietary restrictions, or special occasions

  • Accurately take and deliver food and beverage orders

  • Collaborate and communicate clearly with FOH and BOH to ensure smooth service

  • Monitor tables to anticipate guest needs and ensure satisfaction throughout their experience
