BUS MONITOR/CUSTODIAN (MSHS - Seasonal Full Time) Burley

Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly Reports to: Lead Bus Driver
"This position is considered Seasonal Full-Time, with an approximate start date in March/April and running through December, including some downtime during the off-peak period."
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
- Assist the Bus Driver in maintaining discipline on the bus.
- Assist and monitor children while bus is in operation.
- Assist Bus Driver in documentation of children's information, and record keeping.
- Assist parents and center personnel with safe loading and unloading of children.
- Coordinate seating of children as required by State Transportation guidelines.
- Maintain grounds: pick up litter and trash, mow grass, weed planting areas, and irrigate.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment.
- Ability to operate a maintain grounds equipment and use supplies.
- Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on center facilities, grounds and playground equipment.
- Perform cleaning and minor maintenance on busses.
- Assist in moving and setting up furniture and equipment.
- Set up/clean up after special events.
- Perform snow removal duties.
- Communicate with Teacher Aides, Teachers, and parents concerning child behavior and medical problems.
- Ability to respond to inquiries, requests, or complaints.
- Maintain current knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures.
- Maintain standards of confidentiality of CC Idaho clients and records
- Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with CC Idaho policies, procedures, and safety practice.

Required
- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
- Current driver's license and proof of auto insurance
- Must pass physical examination and required background checks, including state day care clearance
- Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
- Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification
Preferred
- High School Diploma or GED
- Infant/Toddler and Preschool Child Development Associate credential (CDA)
Required Physical Demands
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl; to reach with hands and arms; to climb or balance; and smell
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
Exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, and fumes or airborne particles; exposed to hazards of traffic; the noise level is usually moderate

- First year of service - 16 hours up front and then accrues up to 5 PTO days each year.
