1st shift Custodian

1. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be Civil Service approved
3. Must be fingerprinted and receive background clearance through the State Education Department
4. Must reside in Wyoming County or the Pioneer CSD
5. Must have a valid NY state Driver’s License.
6. Will be expected to understand the responsibility of maintaining, repairing and the operation of a public-school building.
7. Must be able to communicate positively with outside organizations, parents, students and faculty.
8. Must be willing to take control of dangerous situations when they occur during their shift.
9. Being a team player is expected, along with sharing overtime & performing weekend building checks.

1. Working knowledge of electrical systems
2. Plumbing knowledge
3. HVAC experience

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to….

1. Assist in routine maintenance of equipment.
2. Perform specific tasks as directed in performing maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment, gas and water lines, and other related plumbing, heating or ventilation equipment.
3. Perform specific tasks in operating utility plant equipment including heating, ventilating and air-conditioning equipment to learn operating procedures.
4. Lubricate machinery and other preventative maintenance tasks in the boiler, chiller, pump and mechanical equipment rooms.
5. Participate in in-service training courses and on-the-job instruction relative to utility plant operation and engineering.
6. Clean parts, equipment, and equipment areas of HVAC equipment and related areas
7. Must perform other duties as assigned by the Principal, Head Custodian or Director of Facilities.
