Scopo Divino is an Award Winning Wine Bar in lower Pacific Heights. We are a "neighborhood gem" with a very loyal clientele. We have a full menu, have live music 4 days a week, happy hour daily, and brunch on the weekends. Our wine list has been recognized and awarded by Wine Spectator for six years.
We are seeking an evening/night Server five nights a week. Ideally your strong knowledge of and excitement around wine will have you engaging with our clientele, helping them find unique wines from our collection from all over the world. We have a full menu so you'll have the ability to engage with diners as well wine lovers. We are looking for someone that understands the strong correlation between what you get your tables to buy and enjoy translates to higher tips. That extra glass, or half-glass, getting dessert, getting the dessert wine that goes with that dessert, adding something to their pasta, burger, salad, it all adds up and means more in your pocket. You understand the balance between getting to know your regulars and conversing with them, and keeping up with a busy room. Serving might not be your career, yet, but you're good at it, know you can make good money doing it, and want to sink your teeth in somewhere you feel welcome and comfortable, to stay a while.
Seeking a motivated individual with proven experience and aptitude with the following:
Superior service capability while maximizing customer satisfaction
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and clear communication skills
Unquestionable understanding of the need for a constantly clean work area
Ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
Interest in learning about wine and food
Qualifications
Proven work experience in the restaurant industry
Passion for Wine Knowledge and the sale of wines of all levels
Proven and referenceable customer service experience
Extensive food and beverage (FandB) knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers
Familiarity with restaurant management software
Strong sense of warmth and hospitality
Sommelier Status is a plus but not necessary
Requirements:
Good positive can/do attitude
Ability to work longer/later shifts without difficulty
Full schedule availability
Desire for longevity, willing to commit to at least a year or longer
Ability to lift 50 lbs, and reach windows to shut them at end of shift
Current ServSafe Certificate
