Overview: Care Initiatives is hiring Cooks to support the daily dietary needs of residents in our skilled nursing communities across Iowa. As a Cook, you will prepare and serve nutritious meals while ensuring quality, sanitation, and safety standards are met. This is a great opportunity to use your culinary skills to make a meaningful impact in the healthcare field.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary requirements.

• Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.

• Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, including cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and work areas.

• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies.

• Work collaboratively with dietary team members and nursing staff to meet resident nutrition needs.

Requirements:

• Experience in quantity food preparation and kitchen operations.

• Knowledge or willingness to learn food safety, sanitation, and modified diets.

• Previous experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.

• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and dietary instructions.

• Dependable, team-oriented, and organized.
