Job Summary
Essential FunctionsPhysical Demands: Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and lifting.
Performs daily and discharge cleaning, including bed-making, wall-spotting, toilet cleaning, high/low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
Maintains a professional and safe work environment, always using caution signs and cones.
Completes unfinished tasks from previous shifts and reports any maintenance or assignment issues.
Cleans up organic waste (blood, body fluids, feces, sputum, etc.) per supervisor instructions.
Installs cubicle, shower, and window curtains as needed.
Disinfects and sanitizes I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment upon discharge.
Learns and implements new cleaning procedures related to healthcare standards.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays.

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred

- Must have the ability to understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient, performance of the job.
- Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards.
- Requires manual dexterity and the ability to stand for long periods.
- Performs all Environmental Services-related tasks and demonstrates the ability to follow department guidelines related to the work.
- Performs basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
- Performs all environmental services tasks demonstrating services orientation to fellow employees, staff, and patients.
- Cleans patient equipment as requested by the supervisor including beds and all room furnishings.
- Assists in manpower support for office and/or related moves, special conference room set-ups, and any other occasions as required.
- Competent in using the proper chemicals for the proper tasks.
- Ability to perform cleaning of emergency spills when observed and/or upon request.
- In case of community disaster, assist nursing in making up extra beds and other duties as assigned.
