Facilities Custodian/Janitor $20/hr Mon-Fri 7a-3p (some flexibility with schedule)

Looking for an experienced Custodian/Janitor to join our Facilities Team. Cardinal Glass Buford runs a 24-hour/7-day-a-week operation, with two warehouses requiring support. We offer World-Class facilities to our employees and our team is a huge part of our success. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with cleaning and maintaining a building including the cleaning and disinfecting of bathrooms, breakrooms, and common use spaces daily. Qualifications

• Experience in Housekeeping, Janitorial services, Custodial, or commercial cleaning industry is a big plus
• Ability to bend, stoop, stand, walk, reach, and climb for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift 30 lbs continuously and occasionally up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Team player with a positive outlook

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain buildings/facilities - Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas; services, cleans, and supplies restrooms daily
• Gathers and empties trash daily
• Performs heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing trash - Strips, seals, finishes, and polishes floors
• Notifies managers concerning the need for minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Establishes and maintains effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, managers, etc
• Complies with all safety, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Cardinal Glass
• Cleaner must be flexible and willing to complete all tasks that are assigned
• Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. May operate automated sweeper at times.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and production equipment.
• Sometimes using ladders, or scissor lifts to access overhead fixtures - must be able to pass the training and certification for operating such equipment.
• Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or by using hand trucks
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions
• May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks
• Sets up, arranges, and removes decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets and meetings
• Must keep janitor’s closet neat and orderly and maintain equipment in good working order
• Requisitions supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
• Drives vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to cleaning work, including company vehicles
• May be expected to make basic repairs
• Miscellaneous duties as assigned
