La Medusa is a small neighborhood restaurant located in Columbia City, Seattle. We serve a constantly-evolving menu inspired by our love of Sicily and southern Italy as well as ourmitment to local farms and seasonal foods. We are open Wednesday - Saturday from 5pm - 9pm, and our next door aperitivo bar, pantry & wine shop Persephone, is open Wednesday - Saturday from 11am - 9pm.
We are seeking to immediately fill a part-time position (22-28 hours/week) with an experienced server having at least 4 years experience working in busy neighborhood restaurants. Experience with Italian wine and mixing simple cocktails is a requirement of the job, as well as a general interest in amaro & Italian spirits.
Job Duties
Setting up & closing down the service bar.
This job is abination of serving and simple bartending most of the time.
Serving customers both as table service and at the bar.
Offering assistance to customers choosing a bottle or food items in our retail shop & seasonal farmstand.
Keeping a clean and tidy workspace at all times, as the bar is very open to the surrounding restaurant.
Ability to multi-task, including greeting and conversing with customers while making drinks and running food.
Pulling espresso as needed throughout the shift.
Work independently in both supervised and unsupervised settings.
Works at a fast pace, with a sense of urgency and the ability to quicken pace as required.
Have a valid WA food handler's permit & MAST permit.

Preferred Experience
4 years experience waiting tables and/ or bartending in a busy high quality restaurant
Knowledge of Italian wine & spirits with a focus on amaro.
Limited barista experience a plus!
Prior experience working in Italian restaurants or knowledge of Italian food a big plus!
Must be able to lift cases of wine and liquor several times per shift.
