I. General Description:
This position involves maintaining the school physical plant in a neat and clean condition and to keep it in efficient operating order.

II. Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
2. Must possess a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
3. Must be able to pass a background clearence upon employment
4. Must possess a thorough knowledge of all custodial type tools and equipment.
5. Must possess at least one year of custodial background and/or experience.
6. Must be able to maintain neatness of person and display an attitude of friendliness, courtesy, respect, and cooperation toward others.
7. Must be able to push, pull, or lift weight in excess of 50 pounds.
8. Must be able to climb ladders and work in tight spaces

III. Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Sweeps, dusts, and mops floors, vacuums carpets, and dusts windows and furniture.
2. Wipes clean chalkboards and rails.
3. Removes graffiti, gum, candy, etc. from walls and under desks.
4. Empties wastebaskets and other trash containers.
5. Cleans window interiors/exteriors, and cleans and sanitizes bathroom fixtures.
6. Performs minor maintenance repairs.
7. Replaces lamps and bulbs as necessary.
8. Reports safety hazards or need for major repairs.
9. Locks and secures all areas of campus.
10. Complies with school district Safety Manual Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirements.
11. Opens and closes campuses.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Reports To: Maint/Ops Director

Term of employment: 10 months, 29.5 hours per week

Note: **Compensation will be based on 93% of regular rate of pay without High School Diploma
