What you'll do at OhioMHAS:
- Performs skilled & semi-skilled maintenance, replacement, minor installation & repair of plumbing equipment, electrical equipment, carpentry work involving alteration &/or repair to buildings, equipment & wooden structures
- Performs spot roof repair & installs security devices, locks & window air conditioners.
- Escort contractors per hospital-wide new tool control policy/procedures.
- Assists in &/or performs minor painting of fixtures, rooms, buildings, signs & equipment
- Patches plaster & prepares surfaces for painting; assists in masonry work.
- Operates machine tools & welding equipment in making repairs to metal parts & equipment
- Assists in repair & maintenance of interior & exterior maintenance equipment & other specialized equipment
- Completes & maintains work related documentation
- Performs other related duties as required
This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 10 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. This position is located within Heartland Behavioral Healthcare at 3000 Erie Street South, Massillon, OH 44646.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment); in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry only, applicants must have successfully completed the mandated basic firefighter/introduction to fire behavior course (S-130/S-190); in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.
