Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) Field Service Technician servicing specialty biomedical patient care equipment and devices, to include anesthesia and patient monitoring equipment.. Excellent base pay plus commission potential and vehicle. Must have minimum of 3-8 years experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Must have a valid US drivers license and MUST be authorized to work in the US without Visa sponsorship.

Seeking a full time Field Service Biomedical Equipment Technician to provide technical support through repairs, preventative maintenance, quality assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting on several categories of general, advanced and specialty biomedical patient care equipment and devices, to include anesthesia and patient monitoring equipment. The candidate should be proficient in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of duties. This individual serves as an advisor to administrative, medical, and clinical staff as it pertains to safe use and proper operation of clinical equipment. This is a field service position that requires 85% travel.

Must be technically proficient in installation, troubleshooting and repair of monitoring systems.

Must be well organized, able to function independently, with minimum supervision.

Must exhibit high level of critical thinking abilities, is customer-oriented, and have good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Must have an enthusiastic demeanor and can-do attitude. Must have a good driving record.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

Provides professional technical service and support on the installation, inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of Patient Monitoring and Anesthesia equipment.

Responds to requests for maintenance services on basic patient care equipment, anesthesia machines, specialty, and advanced device types. Performs installation assessment, problem verification, troubleshooting and repairs. Prioritizes service calls and unscheduled maintenance while ensuring responses are within acceptable guidelines and timeframes as required by the user department / unit.

Completes the preventative maintenance (PM) workload for assigned equipment to achieve required PM compliance within pre-established time frames. Follows written preventative maintenance and quality assurance testing procedures for assigned medical equipment. Performs scheduled PMS on a scheduled basis.

Prioritizes and schedules all customer onsite visits to maximize efficiency and assure customer expectations are satisfied.

Perform software upgrades on some products. Maintains positive professional communications with customers, regional team members, and the technical support group

Ability to assume lead role in installations, acceptance testing and ongoing up-time management of new equipment; special projects; and in training other staff members on equipment operation and service.

Assists in work actions performed by other external service providers. Completes and reviews service reports on services performed on assigned devices and systems.

Identifies and obtains parts, supplies and other technical resource materials required to service, maintain, test and repair assigned equipment and determines the course of action needed to cost-effectively maximize equipment up-time.

Maintains twenty-four-hour continuous coverage of the territory to provide uninterrupted support and operation of products.

Required

MINIUMUM of an A ssociate degree in electronics or biomedical equipment technology, or equivalent military training certificate.

Background in RF or a minimum of one year working on telemetry systems.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS

IT Network Experience

Hands-on mechanical experience performing direct repair and maintenance.

Specialized training by manufacturer or third-party equipment repair for Anesthesia machines, Sterilizers, ultrasound, ventilators, etc., is a plus and will be considered when determining compensation.

The job entails a substantial amount of driving and travel (85%) as it is a field service position. A satisfactory driving history and ability to drive is a requirement. Requires significant amount of overnight stays away from home during the work week. Ability to live approx. 75 lbs with or without assistance. Part of on-call schedule, one week at a time, 24 hrs per day, sometimes including holidays.

A company vehicle, laptop, phone, Company gas card, full medical, dental, Vision coverage is available for employee and dependent family (effective 30 days.
