This position operates and maintains all designated equipment throughout the facility. Maintains and repairs any blemishes or mechanical mishaps. Responsible for general appearance and overall upkeep of facility. Consistently demonstrates support of the department by striving for excellence, contributing to team efforts and by displaying a degree of daily positive professionalism for customers and fellow employees.
I. Major Responsibilities:
Performs minor maintenance and repair tasks across various trades, including carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical work, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and promptly, without requiring specialized licensing.
Supports licensed trades, such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, boiler operation and plumbing, by providing assistance and performing tasks as needed or directed.
Performs routine rounds throughout facility to ensure equipment is operating properly.
Sets up and operates mechanical equipment and small hand tools.
Troubleshoots/Diagnoses mechanical issues with equipment/systems.

License/Certification/Education:
Required:
MA Driver License
High School Diploma/GED
Experience/Skills:
Required:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Must have ample knowledge/experience using hand tools
Practical problem solving
Able to lift 50+ pounds and climb ladders
Able to stand or kneel for extended period of times
Preferred:
- 3-5 years of experience highly preferred
