Summary of Job Purpose

The Food & Beverage Department is team-oriented and focused on providing our guests with excellent customer service and a pleasurable dining experience.

The Food Service Assistant plays a key role in maintaining the Creekside Cafe as a neat and clean dining environment for our guests, simultaneously assisting the kitchen staff by making sure all supplies are replenished for their use.

On a daily schedule, the completion of a variety of tasks will be required to clean, stock and support the Food & Beverage staff. It is important that the Food Service Assistant is energetic and enthusiastic as the Creekside Cafe can be very busy.

Working as a team member and focusing on fulfilling the need to make sure all supplies are readily available for continual use is a vital role for our kitchen staff and guest’s needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Food & Beverage Managers, Supervisors and Lead Servers, the Food and Beverage Food Service Assistant shall be required to:

  • Keep the Creekside Cafe clean and neat by bussing tables, clearing trays, straightening chairs and general cleaning as needed.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, etc. and return items to their proper stations in the kitchen area.
  • Be pleasant & helpful to customers including being knowledgeable about food served and services offered at Dodge Ridge.
  • Keep the dish room clean including emptying garbage, keeping all trays clean, clearing debris continuously from food traps and keeping floors swept and mopped.
  • Practice safe food handling and cleaning procedures.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible use and care of all kitchen and food service equipment.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid “California Food Handlers Card”, we recommend ServeSafe.
  • Other duties as assigned, being open to becoming cross trained in all areas.

  • Good physical condition, this position may require shoveling, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Work Schedules

Weather conditions and the number of guests play a significant role in the work scheduling of employees.

When conditions are normal, you may be expected to work 40 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. During busy periods, you may be expected to work 6 days a week.

You must arrange for transportation to work so that you arrive at your designated workstation at the scheduled time. Be advised that you may encounter inclement weather conditions and traffic congestion.

Working Conditions

At any time during the season, Dodge Ridge employees must often perform their tasks in variable weather conditions; high winds, rain, snow, and extremely warm temperatures.

Your role is typically inside working directly with resort guests and other resort staff members. During all seasonal operations it can be noisy, cold, hot, dry, or humid. You may be expected to work in warm places and often you will work around hot and cold objects. At times you may be asked to work the grill, as a line server, or server.

Uniforms

A professional appearance at Dodge Ridge is required. Please always wear your nametag and uniform during your scheduled shift. We will supply most of the uniform (shirt, hat and apron) for you to do your job. However, you will have to supply some items as part of your job, as listed below. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Dodge Ridge logo while on shift.

The skiing/snowboarding employee represents a model for safe riding for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe riding procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies.
