Duties:

  • Ensure that department goals are communicated, understood, and by hourly team members at the beginning of their shift.

  • Coordinate tasks to ensure that the restaurant runs efficiently and follow-up.

  • Work with management to ensure that newly hired hourly team members receive proper training.

  • Counsel hourly team members on work related concerns and issues to ensure satisfaction and productivity enlisting the support of management as needed.

  • Listen to team members' suggestions for improving how work is done and guests are served. Gain management support as needed to act upon suggestions.

  • Work with management to ensure that hourly team members have the necessary resources to effectively perform their jobs (e.g., supplies, equipment, inventory, etc.).

  • Ensure that team members are continually and properly trained on all aspects of their job.

  • Work with management to ensure that team members clearly understand the positional roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

  • Address guest concerns, requests, or issues either individually or by enlisting the help of management or other team members.

  • Give constructive feedback to team members to help them continue to improve at their job.

  • Act as a "bridge" between management and hourly team members to facilitate restaurant operation (e.g., keep managers apprised of hourly team members' activities, issues, challenges, etc.).

  • Collaborate with management to develop and carryout ideas and procedures to continuously improve team performance.

  • Enforce compliance with company and mandated standards (e.g., safety, OSHA, department-specific procedures, SNHD regulations).

  • Work with management to recognize and celebrate hourly associate performance contributions (e.g., department-specific recognition programs).

  • Manage basic human resource issues/concerns of hourly team members enlisting the support of management as needed (payroll, work hours, etc.).

  • As an hourly team member's first point of contact, provide fair and consistent assistance.

  • Conduct day-to-day shift supervision and oversee restaurant operations (e.g. assign positions, coordinate breaks, manager checklist completion, counting safe, etc.).

  • Serve as an individual contributor and department role model by performing technical or functional job duties (e.g., accounting, food preparation, room preparation, sanitation standards).

  • Assist in working toward positive financial results through waste control, labor control and guest satisfaction.

  • Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well-trained staff.

  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all team members and guests.

  • Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage (except during your breaks).

  • Ensure that only a quality product is being served.

  • Ensure all side work is done as required.

  • Monitor uniform standards with yourself and team members to include health cards.

  • Continually inspect all areas of the venue to ensure any/all maintenance tasks get communicated to management and completed.

  • Set the example and enforce the standards of honesty, integrity, respect and teamwork.
