Custodian

The primary function of this role is to perform cleaning services and maintain the overall condition of the building. The position ensures a clean and healthy facility by completing various tasks according to the scope and following standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning services according to the scope and follow standard operating procedures.
• Maintain a clean and healthy facility by mopping, vacuuming floors, dusting high and low areas, deep cleaning, and disinfecting multiple surfaces and restrooms.
• Appropriately dispose of waste receptacles daily, including recyclables.
• Complete deep cleans, office restoration, and special projects as requested by managerial teams.
• Verify the correct chemicals are used for each designated area assigned.
• Organize and maintain janitor closets, supply storage, and cleaning equipment.
• Notify management of any deficiencies, safety concerns, and need for repairs.

• Technical degree or certification preferred
• 0-2 years of experience required

Work Environment

The work environment is based in a Medical Research Center at the Janelia Farm Campus in Ashburn, VA. The position operates Monday through Friday with summer hours from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, subject to slight changes in the fall.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
