Job Details Job DetailsOmakase Room - DC is seeking an experienced Lead Server to join our intimate team in Washington-DC . A successful server is someone who is passionate about sushi, sake, Japanese culture, and philosophy, and more importantly, one that can create a positive and impressionable guest experience. The ability to speak in Japanese is preferred!
Job Summary
The Lead Server is responsible for providing polished, personalized omakase-style service while also acting as a floor leader. This includes supporting the FOH team during setup and breakdown, leading service execution, ensuring proper pacing with the chefs counter, and assisting management with training and development of staff.
QualificationsMinimum 23 years of serving experience in fine dining, preferably in Japanese or omakase/tasting-menu settings
At least 2+ years of leadership or mentorship experience in hospitality (Lead Server, Captain, or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of sushi, sake, wine, and Japanese culinary traditions
Ability to time service seamlessly with chef pacing and multi-course menus
Fluent in English; Japanese language skills are a strong plus
Polished personal presentation with professional communication skills
Must be able to walk, stand, and bend for long periods, and lift up to 30 lbs
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be eligible to work in the United States
