Sweet Rehab is a luxurious French Dessert & Champagne bar in the heart of SoHo.

This is an excellent opportunity for hospitality professionals looking to advance their careers, especially in the luxury culinary world. An ideal candidate for the Server position will have to be passionate and knowledgeable about French food, wine/champagne, and service standards as well as have a professional demeanor. Most importantly, he/she will have the desire to learn and envision him/herself as an asset with the potential for growth in the company.

A hospitality or culinary degree is preferred, but not required. Additionally, preferred candidates will have one (or more) long-standing position(s) in their previous job(s).

Job Type : Part-time (3/4 days of work), possibility of full-time

Compensation : Paid hourly + tips.

Responsibilities :

  • Present a friendly welcoming professional personality
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies)
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware, and glasses
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips, or by memorization (when asked)
  • Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
  • Arrange table settings and maintain area
  • Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu, and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations
  • Handle customer queries about the restaurant and menu, and assist various restaurant staff when necessary

Requirements:

  • Legal ability to work in the US (required)
  • Fluency in English (required). A second language ( Chinese, Spanish, and/or Russian) is a plus
  • Attentiveness and patience for customers
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Prior work experience as a Waiter or Waitress is required
  • Prior work experience in upscale dining service, and/or luxury hotel/restaurant/retail is preferred but not required
  • Food safety training is a plus
