About Us:
Molly's Reach by Black Bean is the new location for the Black Bean Cafe which is a beloved cafe in Gibsons, BC. We are committed to serving our community with fresh food and providing a friendly, inclusive environment for our customers. We take pride in roasting our coffee on the coast, as well as serving a delightful selection of baked goods, sandwiches, soups, and other cafe favourites. We will be expanding our menu at the new location and will be providing a wider selection of breakfast and lunch fare.
Job Description:
As a line cook, you will be an integral part of our dynamic team, responsible for preparing a variety of fresh made-to-order lunch items such as sandwiches, salads, burgers, fish and chips and plating and running various dishes to the customers. This role is perfect for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a genuine passion for people, food and coffee!
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a variety of sandwiches, paninis, salads.
- Assist in plating hot breakfast and lunch dishes.
- Opening and closing the kitchen daily.
- Expedite dishes out to the customer.
- Maintain high standards of quality and consistency in all products.
- Help with other kitchen prep tasks as needed.
- Keep the cafe and prep area clean, organized, and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Interact with customers and provide excellent service with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
Qualifications:
- Previous kitchen experience of at least 1-2 years. Passion and willingness to learn are essential.
- Ability to perform physical tasks that include being on your feet for 8-10 hours, cleaning/refilling oil from deep fryers.
- Ability to work mornings.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality food.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive, friendly, and customer-focused attitude.
Position Details:
- Part-time to full-time available.
- Must be able to work for a minimum of 6 months but we would prefer longer (We will not be hiring those who can only work for less than 6 months).
- Pay to be discussed, based on experience. While training wages are $20/hour, once fully trained the wage goes up to $25+/hour (based on experience) Tips are paid out with cash daily! (Average daily tips are $80-$100 per person)
