Room Attendant Jobs in District of Columbia

They are responsible for ensuring rooms and other areas of a hotel are kept clean at all times. Their duties include changing towels, making beds, and cleaning bathrooms. They also replenish room supplies such as drinking glasses, writing supplies and bathroom supplies. They check and secure the rooms, report any damage or maintenance issues, and ensure lost property is handed over to their supervisor.

Important skills for a Room Attendant include attention to detail, good physical stamina and customer service skills. They should also have knowledge of cleaning techniques and chemical handling. There are no specific certifications required, but a high school diploma is usually preferred. Before becoming a Room Attendant, a person could have roles such as a Cleaner, Laundry Attendant or a Porter in the hospitality industry. These roles provide relevant skills and experiences such as familiarity with hotel operations, cleaning practices, and customer service.
