Maintenance Worker, Lead - Drainage

Performs manual labor and semi-skilled work in the operation of trucks and equipment for a wide variety of job functions in various City departments, in accordance with all safety regulations and proceduresPerforms a variety of manual labor and semi-skilled equipment operation in order to maintain streets, roadway, water and sewer systems, infrastructure, parks, grounds and facilities as assigned; duties will vary according to job assignment. Performs maintenance tasks and general labor work within scope of authority and training, and in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures. Assists in the repair and maintenance of streets, roadways, sewers, parks, and infrastructure; maintains landscaping and grounds; clears trash, brush, weeds and debris; digs and fills holes; patches, clears and repairs roadway and adjoining areas; installs and maintains signs. Cleans and maintains City parks and facilities; makes minor facility repairs. Delivers recycling/trash containers to residents. Performs traffic control activities as needed; follows safety regulations in all work sites. Operates and maintains a variety of specialized vehicles, tools and equipment; cleans and performs routine maintenance work on tools and equipment. Completes required daily logs and reports. Utilizes proper safety precautions in all work performed; reports safety hazards, equipment problems and emergency situations; recognizes, avoids, and reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries. Cross-trains in a variety of work tasks and maintenance procedures. Performs tasks in the interest of public safety and property protection during emergencies. Performs other related duties as assigned or required. High School diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License; Commercial Drivers License (CDL) is required when assigned to the Public Works Division. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions, with exposure to hazardous equipment; requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and move items weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
