Phoxotic Noodle Bar is seeking skilled, reliable, and passionate team members to help us deliver authentic Vietnamese pho in the heart of Washington, DC!

1. Cashier/Host (Front of House)

Starting Pay: TBD

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and manage seating arrangements
  • Handle cash, credit/debit transactions, knowledge of Toast POS
  • Answer phone calls, take to-go orders, and assist with customer inquiries
  • Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area (counter, bar, etc.)
  • Assist servers with drinks, tables, and restocking
  • Manage online waitlist system

Requirements:

  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable multitasking
  • Basic math skills and cash-handling experience preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous host/cashier experience is a plus, but not required (training provided)

2. Server

Starting Pay: TBD

Responsibilities:

  • Take accurate food and drink orders, ensuring special requests (allergies, spice levels) are communicated to the kitchen
  • Serve dishes promptly and correctly, including proper pho presentation (herbs, sauces, etc.)

  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and handle any concerns professionally

  • Process payments (cash, credit, or digital)

  • Set up, clean, and reset tables efficiently between guests

  • Assist with basic side-work like refilling condiments, brewing tea, or rolling silverware

  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain smooth service during busy hours

Requirements:

  • Friendly, attentive, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

  • Prior serving experience preferred (but willing to train the right person)

  • Ability to carry hot trays, stand for long shifts, and work weekends/holidays

  • Team player with strong communication skills

3. Meat Cutter/Meat Manager

Starting Pay: $18-$20

Responsibilities:

  • Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meat
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the meat preparation area, adhering to food safety regulations
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, saws, and grinders safely and effectively
  • Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages
  • In charge of receiving orders from suppliers and checking the quality and temperature of food

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in meat cutting or food preparation is preferred, but not mandatory; culinary training is a plus
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and safe food handling practices is essential
  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) preferred; required once employed
  • Able to lift 50lb
  • Experience in a restaurant or food production environment is preferred

4. Cook & Prep Cook

Starting Pay: TBD

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook according to recipes

  • Chop, slice, and portion ingredients (herbs, vegetables, meats) for efficient kitchen workflow

  • Assist in daily prep work, including stock preparation, sauce mixing, and ingredient organization

  • Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards at all times

  • Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment

  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and well-stocked

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a Vietnamese/Asian kitchen (preferred but not requiredtraining available for the right candidate)

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume kitchen

  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe certification)

  • Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) preferred (Vegetable Manager)
  • Able to lift 50lb

5. Dishwasher

Starting Pay: TBD

Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots & pans quickly and thoroughly

  • Maintain a clean dish station and organize cleaned items

  • Take out the trash and recycling

  • Assist in keeping the entire kitchen clean (floors, counters, equipment)

  • Follow health & safety guidelines

  • Help cooks with simple prep tasks when needed

Requirements:

  • Previous dishwashing work experience preferred.
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs

  • Works fast in a busy environment
