If yes, our fine dining Restaurant has an opening for a Bartender, offering a unique opportunity for growth and development in the hospitality industry.
As the Bartender, you will play a key role in supporting the restaurant's beverage program with the direction of the Wine Director; you possess, deliver, practice, and utilize strong work ethics, executive exemplary dining bar service with a specialty knowledge of wine and cocktails, which you will use to actively embody, inspire, and teach skills to elevate the guest experience, your teammates, and ultimately, the restaurant.
The Responsibilities Include
- Arrive to work every day with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, & prepared for the shift.
- Set up the bar station in a timely manner, working alongside coworkers to make sure that the mise en place is always set to standard & ready for service.
- Effectively operate the service well by preparing drinks in a timely manner to the highest standard for all guests at the restaurant.
- Know the table numbers and position numbers in all sections of the restaurant.
- Maintain complete knowledge of products and specifications. This includes ingredients, descriptions, sourcing, brands, allergens, etc.
- Maintain knowledge of classic cocktails that may not be listed on the menu, but regularly ordered by guests.
- Serve alcoholic beverages only to guests over 21 years of age. Check identification of guests to ensure they are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages.
- Control the amount of alcohol served, so that guests do not become over-intoxicated.
- Help to promote a safe and clean environment for co-workers, and guests.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our POS operation. Effectively execute orders and process payments for all guests.
- Use heightened awareness on any allergy table, and work to code according to our allergy standards.
- Perform bar maintenance throughout the shift, including crumbing, keeping waters full, clearing & resetting serving ware etc.
- Report all guest complaints to management immediately and work to ensure all guests needs are met.
- Build relationships with regular guests; and maintain good relations with our neighborhood and industry community members.
- Comply with sanitation standards and procedures according to health and legal regulations.
- Complete weekly cleaning duties, in addition to opening and closing duties.
- Act in a professional manner and represent the restaurant graciously whether you are in house, traveling, or at another local establishment.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a high-volume environment
- Friendly, high-energy personality with positive attitude and open-minded and team-oriented mindset
- Knowledgeable in full-service bar and knowledge of service standards
- Highly organized, efficient, and meticulous with attention-to-detail on all operational matters
- Valid Food Handling and Responsible Alcohol Certifications
- Ability to work collaboratively with Management and Team
- Maintain professionalism at all times when outside of work and in social environments (including all social media outlets) understanding that you are a representative of the Restaurant
- Must be able to multi-task
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Guest and Team focused attitude
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per business needs
Physical Demands & Essential Functions
- The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English (Preferred)
- Polished personal presentation; grooming meets Company standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions
- Ability to perform essential job functions when working under stress, in fast-paced environment
