Position Information
Hiring Department: Facilities

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday with standard hours varying between 6:00am - 2:30pm and 7:00am - 3:30pm as needed, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends.
FLSA status: Non-exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: $25,000.00 Annually.

Purpose of Position
Maintains and repairs physical structures of buildings and maintains grounds.
Essential Functions
Responsible for maintenance and general repairs of campus buildings and infrastructure.
Receives written work orders or verbal instructions from supervisor.
Assists in the preparation of estimates of labor and material costs.
Erects swinging scaffold, positions ladders, assembles metal scaffolding to facilitate building maintenance work.
Repairs or replaces building brick, stone, wood, and concrete.
Repairs and installs fencing throughout campus.
Cleans excessively stained surface areas with brushes and cleaning compound.
Sprays concrete floor to etch surface for cleaning and applies filler compound to seal floor surface.
Performs minor paint jobs on furniture, and wall coverings.
Performs minor maintenance on motor vehicles operated by gas and gasoline.
Assists with minor welding and soldering repairs and priming handrails and bicycle racks.
Inspects roofs, windows, walls, concrete, and drains for water leaks and perform repairs as needed.
Assists with the inspection, repair and/or maintenance of generators and other equipment.
Installs or repairs handicap doors, sliding doors, automatic arm gates, brackets, door closures, floor tile, carpets, handrails, bicycle rails, window frames, ceiling tiles, pigeon guards, door hardware, cabinets, chairs, desks, blackboards, mini blinds, pencil sharpeners, bathroom dispensers, portable panels, regular and handicap partition doors, and metal or wood shelves.
Assists other departments with moving furniture and unloading and storing supplies.
Must be available on an "On Call" basis.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Experience: One year of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
