Req Id:30428Job Title:CustodianCity:Fort Wayne[Job Description:[]{itemprop="description"}]{role="heading" aria-level="2"}Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site,Custodianin our Building Services department.This position maintains and performs custodial duties within assigned university building area(s). The pay for this position is $13/hr.Primary Responsibilities*:*- Provide daily general cleaning duties in assigned area that includes - classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells, and hallways.- Trash removal.- Floor care - sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet cleaning- Assist with special event set-up and removal of tables and chairs.- Ensure adequate supplies are in stock.- Perform routine facility and equipment inspectionsand inform supervisor of needed repairs.Required Qualifications:- A High School Diploma or GED.- Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders.- Move, lift, carry, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, materials and equipment.Benefits:- Free tuition through Purdue University Global.- Fee remission for a traditional Purdue degree for yourself, your spouse, and your child(ren).- Insurance starts on first day of employment.- Generous Paid Time Off - additional PTO in December.- Additional benefit information: Information:- Resumes and cover letters that contain portraits or personal information will not be reviewed by the hiring committee.- Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.- A background checkwill be required for employment in this position.- FLSA: Non-Exempt (Eligible for Overtime)- Retirement Eligibility: Non-Exempt Defined Contribution PlanPurdue Fort Wayne is an EEO/EA employer.
