Job description
The Back of House (BOH) Lead plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and high-quality operation of the kitchen and prep areas at NUDAE Coffee. This leadership position is a step up from the BOH Employee role, with added responsibility for maintaining operational flow, upholding standards, and supporting team development. The BOH Lead acts as a bridge between kitchen staff and management, providing guidance and oversight during shifts.

Primary Responsibilities
Perform all standard duties of the Back of House Employee role at a consistently high level

Lead by example to ensure food is prepped and handled according to Health Department regulations and NUDAE standards

Ensure all recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards are followed with consistency

Oversee daily prep and station setup, ensuring all ingredients are stocked, labeled, and stored properly using FIFO practices

Support daily kitchen flow by identifying needs, delegating tasks, and maintaining communication with FOH and leadership

Ensure all kitchen equipment and prep areas are cleaned and maintained according to health and safety guidelines

Assist with onboarding and training of new BOH staff, reinforcing best practices and standards

Act as point of contact for day-to-day questions, task distribution, and operational concerns during shifts

Ensure all checklists (Daily, Opening, Pre-Closing, Closing, Weekly Cleaning) are completed thoroughly and on time

Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and productivity during downtime

Support management with weekly inventory checks and help identify supply or prep needs

Communicate proactively with Linh or designated manager regarding issues, needs, or discrepancies in BOH operations

Monitor and reinforce timekeeping accuracy via Homebase for yourself and support with team accountability

Ideal Qualities

This position is starting at $19.00 + tips (currently averages about $25/hour total)
