ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Knowledge, understanding, and adherence to company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • To assist the bartender(s) and cocktail staff in performance of their duties
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of bar on a daily basis including before, during and after shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of guest areas and equipment at all times during shift including removing empty glasses/bottles, cleaning ashtrays, picking up and dumping garbage, sweeping, and mopping floors, sanitizing equipment
  • Maintain and organized bar.
  • Greet guests in a courteous, friendly manner. Ability to interact with the public and provide excellent guest service.
  • Know guidelines for serving alcohol with care.
  • Knowing and conveying hotel activities to guests
  • Perform specific tasks related to bars as assigned: organizing, ordering, stocking, and cleaning
  • Ability to lift and carrying product by hand as well as with carts or hand trucks.
  • Maintain and organize bars and storerooms.
  • Refill chemicals such as hand soap or glass washer chemicals.
  • Ability to re-fill ice bins and beer bins, utilizing ice machines.
  • Can operate a glassware washer.
  • Answering phones
  • Maintain proper inventory of product
  • Maintain and neat, professional image and appearance at all times
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must possess the ability to deal with guests and co-workers in a tactful and respectful manner.

Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests, employees, and supervisors.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required.

Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.

Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.

In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of functions to be determined based upon the particular needs of the Hotel.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee: must be able to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced, casino environment and effectively deal with guests, management, team members and others. Is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and move through all areas of the casino; speak and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. May reach with hands and arms above shoulder level; bend/stoop, squat, balance, kneel, lift and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance visions, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
