Custodian/Janitor

Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping and vacuuming.

Clean spills and other hazards using appropriate safety gear.

Clean bathrooms and stock them with soap, toilet paper, and other supplies.

Gather and empty trash.

Wash windows, walls, and glass.

Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.

Perform landscaping duties such as planting and watering vegetation, pruning, fertilizing, and mowing grass.

Remove snow from sidewalks, and walkways.

Set up, arrange, and remove tables and chairs for meetings.

Perform various building maintenance duties as needed.

Employee may be required to work irregular hours (including 24 hour call outs), attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

Inspect inside facility for needed repairs and report them to the Facilities Director.

Physical Functions:

Must be able to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally (up to 1/3 of workday), from ground to waist level.

Must be able to lift up to one-hundred (100) pounds with assistance, occasionally from ground to waist level.

Must be able to lift up to five (5) pounds occasionally, from ground to overhead.

Must be able to stand and/or walk up to four (4) hours at one time, and up to six (6) hours per day.

Must be able to kneel up to one (1) hour a day with intermittent breaks.

Must be able to crouch up to one (1) hour a day with intermittent breaks.

Must be able to climb and crawl and maintain balance while using a ladder.

Must be able to reach in front of and overhead frequently (up to 2/3 of workday), and arms extended occasionally.

Must be able to twist and rotate occasionally.
