The Dinex Group, restaurant group of Chef Daniel Boulud includes Le Pavillon , a midtown culinary oasis located on the 2nd floor of One Vanderbilt off 42nd street.

We are seeking an experienced Sommelier who has a passion for hospitality to join the team! The ideal candidate is someone who exhibits a willingness to grow and learn, is knowledgeable about wine & spirits alongside French cuisine and above all, guest experience!

Essential Duties:

The Sommelier is responsible for maintaining an award-winning international wine list that meets the goals set by management for ensuring proper service of all wine. This staff member assists in staff trainings and keeping the team up to date on all changes to the rotating by-the-glass selections. The Sommelier is also responsible for the organization of the cellar and other wine storage locations, verifying the accuracy of wine deliveries and their invoices, and the execution of monthly inventory.

The Sommelier should have the ability to naturally guide guests towards food & wine pairings to accentuate their dining experience a nd should always be present on the floor making sure that wine service runs smoothly.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of fine dining restaurant experience in a similar setting
  • Desire and dedication to offer premier fine dining experience
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • High volume experience

  • Full availability - daytime hours, evening hours and weekends
  • Reference check

Compensation: Hourly ($16.50 - $17.50) plus tips
