GREENFIELD Deli Clerk To prepare sandwiches to order, serve preparedfood and baked goods from deli and bakery counters, slice all meats,cheese, and vegetables for production and sales, and to provide promptand friendly customer service to ensure the department meets goals forsales, margin, labor costs and customer service. ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS: OPERATIONS: Develop full understanding of bakery and deliproduction schedules, range of offerings and ingredients in order toanswer customer questions. Learn and follow safe and effectiveoperations of all department equipment. Learn and follow safety, foodstorage and food labeling procedures. Maintain full compliance withhealth department regulations with ServSafe preferred. Stock displaycases regularly and fully to give feeling of abundances; ensure correctsignage in attractive, clean condition. Follow established methods ofmaking sandwiches and serving prepared foods and bakery goods to meetgoals of consistency, margin and customer service. Prepare coffee andmaintain drink counter in clean, organized, and fully stocked condition.Offer tastings, samples and suggestions for purchase and ways to prepareproducts. Rotate deli items and keep batches separated by date to ensurefreshness. Label or sign items with price and ingredients whereappropriate. Attend regular department meetings. Demonstrate optimalstandards for teamwork with staff. Prepared orders for McCusker\'sMarket and catering. Abide by all Co-op policies and procedures asspecified in the FCC Employee Handbook. Perform other tasks as assignedby supervisor. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Exceed our customers\' expectations forservice and provide a welcoming environment for all in accordance withthe Co-op\'s customer service standards. Demonstrate knowledge ofoptimal service standards and meet the Co-ops standards. Be clear aboutproduction schedules in order to respond to customers inquires as wellas developing a understanding of McCusker\'s ordering. Developfamiliarity with special order systems. Communicate with otherdepartment staff (cashiers, cooks, bakers) regarding particular customerneeds. MAINTENANCE: Maintain storage, display, and prep area in sanitaryand orderly condition and good working order, following guidelines setby Manager; report problems areas. Participate cooperation withdishwashing. Clean up spills and remove trash promptly; sweep and mop asneeded. Restock full range of supplies as needed. Notify Manager ofequipment repair and/or replacement needs. Demonstrated expertise in development and production of at leastone major area of bakery production (bread or pastry). Successful trackrecord in serving the public. Demonstrated track record in leadership,reliability and maintenance of commitments. Knowledge of natural foods,nutrition and dietary restrictions. Willingness and ability to projectfriendly and outgoing personality. Ability to work independently andmanage time productively. Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for longperiods, handle multiple demands, work in close quarters and underpressure. Manual dexterity with hazardous equipment. Strongcommunication and leadership skills
