JOB REQUIREMENTS: Prepare and cook large quantities of food for
students. Assist in preparing, setting up, and serving the school hot
lunch; assist in checking in and putting away food and other product
orders; maintain a clean environment of kitchen and equipment. Apportion
and serve food to students. Clean and inspect equipment, appliances, and
work areas to ensure cleanliness and functional operation. Clean, cut,
and cook meat and produce. Wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and other
cooking equipment. Carry food supplies, equipment, and utensils to and
from storage and work areas. Inform supervisors when equipment is not
working properly and when food and supplies are getting low, and order
needed items. Keep records of the quantities of food used. Load dishes,
and tableware into dishwashing machines. Mix ingredients for salads.
Prepare a variety of foods, such as meats, vegetables, or desserts,
according to supervisors\' instructions, following approved procedures.
Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in
refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas. Remove trash and
clean kitchen garbage containers. Stock cupboards and refrigerators, and
tend salad bar. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to
prevent spoilage. Take and record temperature of food and food storage
areas, such as refrigerators and freezers. Sweep and mop kitchen floor.
