The Kitchen Maintenance Steward is the backbone of a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen. This role blends janitorial duties with light maintenance and support for kitchen operations. Here's a detailed look at what the job typically involves:

Key Responsibilities

• Sanitation & Cleaning : Wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment; clean floors, walls, ceilings, and drains.
• Dishwashing : Operate and maintain dishwashing machines; ensure proper sanitation of all dishware and cookware.
• Trash & Waste Management : Remove garbage, recycling, and food waste; clean and sanitize bins and disposal areas.
• Inventory Support : Restock cleaning supplies and assist with organizing storage areas.
• Maintenance Assistance : Report equipment malfunctions; perform basic upkeep like replacing filters or tightening fixtures.
• Safety Compliance : Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards; use cleaning chemicals safely and correctly.

Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and chemical safety
• Ability to lift 4050 lbs and work in hot, humid environments
• Strong attention to detail and time management
• Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; Food Handlers Certification is required.
