Food Service Worker

As a member of the NewPath Food Service team, you will be able to provide the appropriate dietary needs for the youth in our program. As a Food Service team member you will also contribute to making menu changes, planning events and developing ways to improve the food service operation. As a member of the NewPath Food Service team, you can make an impact on a child by ensuring their nutritional needs are met each day.

Hours:

1099 Contract 4 days per week. Mon-Wed, 8am - 4pm; Thur, 8am - Noon

Location: NewPath Central Campus, 4721 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45237.

What you'll be doing:

Prepare foods according to the established menu and snack schedules keeping with the nutritional requirements.

Pre-prep and pull menu items for next day service.

Utilize proper procedures to heat, hold, cool, label, store and discard food according to applicable food safety standards and regulations.

Prepare bag lunches and other food needs for client activities (field trips, outings, reward parties).

Prepare coffee carts and food needs for campus meetings and trainings upon request.

Interact with clients during serving times to encourage proper and improved nutrition and selection.

Assist the Food Service Supervisor in planning menus that encourage clients' participation in meal offerings.

Complete documentation as required, including temperature logs, meal-preparation counts and production worksheets.

Uses necessary procedures to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of the kitchen and storage areas.

Clean and stores dishes, pots, utensils and trays used during the preparation and serving of meals.

Stock food items as assigned and utilize good inventory practices.

Complete assigned special cleaning assignments designated by the Food Service Supervisor.

Assist Food Service Supervisor to process all food donations.

What you need:

High school diploma/or equivalent required.

Previous food service experience in a healthcare or residential setting preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of institutional cooking and serving with a basic understanding of the fundamentals of good nutrition.

Good customer service and communication skills.

Must be 21 years of age and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical & TB test.

Have a valid driver's license and good driving record, with no more than 5 points, and current automobile insurance.
