Summary: The Bartender and/or Barista at Leona Cafe Bar is a versatile and engaging professional, essential to delivering our unique blend of coffee, botanical, and alcoholic beverage experiences. This role is responsible for expertly preparing and serving a wide range of drinks, from meticulously crafted espresso beverages and refreshing botanical mocktails to classic cocktails and Leona's signature creations. Bartenders are front-line ambassadors of our brand, ensuring every guest receives prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable service in our botanical cafe and bar environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation & Execution:
Master the preparation and presentation of all beverages on Leona's menu, including:
Coffee & Espresso
Botanical & Non-Alcoholic
Alcoholic Beverages
Consistently ad to all drink recipes, portion control guidelines, and presentation standards to ensure quality and consistency.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all menu items, including ingredients, allergens, and preparation methods, to answer guest questions and make informed rmendations.
Guest Service & Experience:
Warmly greet guests and provide exceptional, personalized service at the bar, counter, and to support the floor team as needed.
Process orders and payments accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, building rapport and contributing to Leona's weing atmosp.
Monitor guest alcohol consumption and ad strictly to all responsible alcohol service guidelines and legal age verification protocols.
Bar Operations & Maintenance:
Maintain a clean,anized, and well-stocked bar area at all times, including glassware, bar tools, garnishes, and inventory.
Perform opening, closing, and ongoing side work duties as assigned, ensuring the bar is ready for service and properly maintained throughout the shift.
Operate and maintain all bar equipment (espresso machines, blenders, juicers, dishwashers, etc.) safely and effectively, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
Ad to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both guests and staff.
Teamwork & Collaboration:
Work seamlessly with Bar Leads, Bar Manager, Assistant Manager, kitchen staff, and front-of-house team members to ensure smooth operations and a cohesive guest experience.
Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding orders, guest needs, and operational updates.
Support fellow team members as needed, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Upkeep and maintain the array of botanicals that are an essential part of our concept.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a bartender, barista, or similar role in a high-volume cafe or bar setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in preparing a wide range of coffee beverages, classic cocktails, and understanding of diverse beverage categories.
Ability to learn and execute new and signature botanical beverage recipes.
Excellent customer service andmunication skills.
Strong multi-tasking andanizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages in Austin, Texas.
Current TABC certification and Food Handler's permit (or ability to obtain quickly upon hire).
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
