Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Janitor to support daily cleaning and sanitation efforts in our Bit Plant facility for a 3-month term. This role is critical to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment across production, common, and office areas. The successful candidate will take pride in their work, follow established cleaning schedules, and support health and safety standards in a heavy industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and sanitize lunchrooms, locker rooms, offices, and hallways daily.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub production floors and non-production areas.
Empty garbage, recycling, and scrap bins throughout the facility on a regular schedule.
Wipe down surfaces, handrails, doors, and high-touch areas in compliance with hygiene protocols.
Maintain janitorial supplies and notify supervisor when replenishment is needed.
Safely operate cleaning equipment such as floor vacuums and hand tools.
Assist in light exterior groundskeeping tasks such as sweeping walkways and removing debris.
Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to the Facilities Supervisor.
Follow all company safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and cleaning chemicals.
Support special cleaning projects during downtime or plant shutdowns.

Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Previous janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience is an asset.
Experience working in a manufacturing, plant, or industrial setting is preferred.
Languages: Basic English communication skills required for understanding instructions, safety signage, and reporting issues.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Work Environment:
Industrial manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, dust, oil, grease, and cleaning chemicals.
May be exposed to hot or cold conditions depending on the season and area of the plant.
Frequent walking between production and non-production areas.
Lifting Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and pushing/pulling of cleaning equipment.
Must be able to wear appropriate PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe footwear.
