Who We Are

The Ned NoMad is a new members club and hotel that opened in the heart of New York in summer 2022. Its the first international Ned site to open following the launch of The Ned London in 2017.

The Property

Located in The Johnston Building and formerly the NoMad Hotel in Manhattan, the property was built in 1903 as a store and office building. The original architectural features have been honored, with interiors designed by the Soho House Design team.

The Ned NoMad offers a mix of members-only and public spaces, including 167 bedrooms and suites. Neds Club will give members access to a rooftop bar and terrace restaurant as well as a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge with live entertainment from The Atrium Stage, seven nights a week. New to the property is Cecconis, a modern day classic Italian restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet members and their guests with warmth and professionalism.
  • Ensure that all members' requests and preferences are met promptly and courteously.
  • Handle member feedback and concerns with discretion and efficiency.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a team of host/hostesses, servers, and other front-of-house staff.
  • Create and maintain a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and excellence.
  • Schedule staff shifts and manage staffing levels to meet club demands.
  • Oversee the reservation system, optimizing table allocation and managing waitlists.
  • Coordinate seating arrangements, ensuring efficient table turnover while maintaining member satisfaction.
  • Set high service standards and ensure they are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Supervise the service team to maintain impeccable presentation, table settings, and overall club aesthetics.
  • Identify VIP members and provide personalized attention and recognition.
  • Assist in organizing special events and private functions for members.
  • Monitor and manage inventory of dining and service supplies.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality products.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost control efforts.
  • Monitor sales, track expenses, and contribute to revenue growth strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area.
  • Responsible for always maintaining the ambiance of Club/ Public spaces (including light, music, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Maitre d' or in a similar role in a luxury hospitality setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Impeccable grooming and presentation.
  • Proficiency in reservation management software.
  • Knowledge of fine dining etiquette and wine service.
  • Familiarity with safety and hygiene standards.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service and exceeding member expectations.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary ($80,000.00 - $90,000.00)
