Position Purpose

The bartender prepares alcoholic beverages and nonalcoholic beverages to the guests in a timely fashion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set up the mise en place for the featured cocktails
  • Ensure bar is stocked up
  • Inform manager when items run low
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated at the bar
  • Clear bar area after guests leave, take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing
  • Respond immediately and appropriately to guest requests
  • Communicate with server, host and Maitre D to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service
  • Thank guests as they are leaving
  • Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness and immaculate uniform presentation
  • Be a team player; help out fellow staff whenever possible

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

  • Must be able to effectively communicate
  • Must be able to follow directions with focus to detail
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision
  • Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job- carry/push cart with beverage heavy trays from time to time. (40lb)
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Experience: At least three years in high volume, upscale restaurant or hotel

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($16.50) plus tips
