Role Overview As the Captain at Togyushi, you play a key leadership role in the dining room, ensuring seamless service and an exceptional guest experience. Acting as the link between management, staff, and guests, the Captain is responsible for overseeing a section of the restaurant, guiding servers, and upholding the restaurants service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service
Greet and engage guests warmly, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
Anticipate guest needs, handle special requests, and resolve complaints promptly and graciously.
Guide guests through the menu, making recommendations and upselling food, wine, and beverage pairings.
Team Leadership
Supervise and coordinate the activities of assigned servers, bussers, and runners.
Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and service team.
Train and mentor staff on service techniques, menu knowledge, and restaurant standards.
Operational Excellence
Monitor table settings, presentation, and pace of service to ensure consistency.
Oversee mise en place, ensuring readiness of the dining room before service.
Support floor managers in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety.
Sales & Revenue
Promote daily specials, seasonal dishes, and wine/cocktail pairings to maximize revenue.
Monitor check accuracy and ensure smooth payment handling.
Qualifications
Previous experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality (minimum 23 years preferred).
Strong food, wine, and beverage knowledge (sommelier or WSET certification a plus).
Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor with a guest-first mindset.
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation: Hourly ($38.00 - $40.00)
