We are seeking an experienced Catering Captain / Service Manager to lead and oversee events, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage staff, logistics, and service flow with precision. The job is Part-time/Temp Per Diem , the hours are as needed for events and we service NYC and 5 Boros.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee pre-event planning, including reviewing paperwork, conducting site visits, and coordinating logistics.
  • Supervise set-up and breakdown, ensuring efficiency and adherence to event timelines.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings, briefing staff on service flow, attire, and expectations.
  • Manage guest experience, from greeting and seating to monitoring service quality and special requests.
  • Maintain service flow, ensuring courses are served on time and guests needs are met.
  • Handle event logistics, including communication with the Chef, kitchen, and vendors.
  • Manage staffing for all full service events.
  • Oversee staff coordination, assigning tasks and providing guidance to maintain high service standards.
  • Complete post-event responsibilities, including breakdown supervision, staff check-out, and paperwork submission.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in catering, banquet, or hospitality management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual: English & Spanish.
