Job Details North Fork Table & Inn is a well-loved spot on the East End, known for showcasing the best of Long Islands farms, vineyards, and waters. The restaurant is located in a historic countryside home in Southold, Long Island. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Maintain communication between the reservations, host team, the kitchen and the rest of the dining room.
- Welcoming and seating guests accurately and professionally
- Coordinating effective flow of guests and staff for a variety of events and high-volume services.
- Provide engaged, friendly, and attentive customer service to all guests inclusive of eye contact, respectable conversation and smiling.
- Ensure clear communication with guests always making genuine connections.
- Communicating effectively with management and dining room teams on guest updates, special occasions, allergies, table status, VIPs, etc.
- Estimating wait times for guests and maintaining the guest wait list.
- Orchestrate strategic seating plans.
- Understand tables configuration and optimization.
- Managing coat check in a clean and organized fashion.
- Identify guests in relations to their needs, regularity, and time of dining, food and drink choice, seat preference etc.
- Review all names in reservations and ensure special occasions (birthday, anniversary, etc.) are acknowledged and the allergies are flagged.
- Complete tasks in other FOH roles when needed to contribute to a positive guest experience.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.
- At least 2 years of Maitre D experience in a fine dining setting, fast paced restaurant
- Displays a pleasant and cheerful disposition
- Able to communicate professionally and effectively with both guests and staff
- Working knowledge of Resy or OpenTable.
- Available to work weekends, and holidays if necessary
- Must be able to stand and or walk for long periods of time without sitting
