Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare and assist the team in preparing quality food items according to planned menus and recipes.
• Serve meals during scheduled times, ensuring proper portions and adherence to department policies and client nutritional needs.
• Maintain a clean and food-safe work environment, including cleaning as you go, sanitizing equipment, and performing general kitchen upkeep (sweeping, mopping, trash removal).
• Operate and utilize a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment for cooking, preparation, and serving.
• Strictly adhere to all food safety regulations, including proper sanitation, handling, and storage practices.
• Function effectively in a fast-paced environment, performing routine kitchen tasks while maintaining organization and cleanliness.
• Perform physical demands of the role, including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods during your shift.

MustHave Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Solid understanding of food handling regulations
• Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member
• Capable of multi-tasking and adapting quickly to changes
• Demonstrated dependability and flexibility in work schedule
• Ability to perform physical duties including standing for extended periods, lifting, bending, pushing, and kneeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience

Pay & Benefits

• Hourly Pay: $23.18/hour, paid weekly

Schedule & Location

• Work Schedule: Open shift schedule - prefer open availability from 5:45am -7pm, different shifts could be 5:45am-2:15pm or 11:30a-7pm. Would also require some weekends and holiday schedules
• Worksite: Onsite at Oneida County Correctional Facility
• Location: Oriskany, New York
