This position is responsible for answering the telephone, scheduling patients, both new and established, updating patient demographics and verifying patient insurance information. Position is also responsible for assisting in maintaining Pre and Post-visit work queues and appointment/referral work queues. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times .
Responsibilities Schedule patient appointments, reschedule patients from reschedule list, and make sure providers and residents schedules are full. Check patients in and out, collect copays, balances, self-pay, and cosmetic fees at time of service. Update patients insurance and demographic information in the EHR Answer a multi-line phone and assist caller appropriately or send an in basket message to appropriate individual or pool. Checks the electronic medical record for referrals and authorization prior to visit or upon patient arrival. Makes sure all information/ paperwork in scanned into the patients chart Performs daily batch in accordance with EVMS Medical Group cash handling policy and send to EVMS Medical Group for deposit. Checks and answer tasks that are directly assigned to personal folder, Derm Reception Folder, Derm Sched and Derm Sched All Folders. Ensures waiting room is clean and organized. All other duties as assigned related to front office and administrative duties. QualificationsExperience performing related functions in a medical practice is preferred. Previous front desk customer service experience will be considered.
Professional, customer service-oriented individual is required.
