Located in the heart of Belltown just blocks from Seattle Center and Pike Place Market, Fulcrum Cafe is the flagship cafe of Fulcrum Coffee Roasters. Since opening its doors in 2018, the cafe has steadily built a great reputation and following, being featured in numerous publications and media outlets including Eater, Seattle Refined, Seattle Times, King5, The Stranger, Bon Appetit, Thrillist, Visit Seattle, and more. Position Details

Fulcrum Cafe is seeking a barista to join its talented and progressive team. Shifts can vary from 5-8 hours long. We are looking for a part-time barista (avg 3 days / week) to start, with the potential to move up to more days if desired, as they be available.

We are open from 8am - 6pm on weekends, and 7am - 6pm on weekdays. We aim to set steady schedules to provide stability. We understand schedule changes happen and can often amodate them with notice. We are seeking independent team members that arefortable going about day to day tasks without direct supervision. We value both a strong work ethic, with a healthy work-life balance.

Wage

Starting wage is $20.76/hour plus tips. You would be making about $29-32/hr after tips on average. Tips are pooled between hours worked, and typically range from $8-12/hour based upon seasonality.

Genuine customer service skills

Ability to work well with team members and responsibilities (bar service, food, prep, cleaning, register, etc.)

Strongmunication with both customers and team members

Ability to keep workspace clean and tidy, even through busy moments

Ability to improvise and remain calm when issues arise (ingredients run out, equipment breaks, a customer is dissatisfied, etc.)

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment - coffee, food, customer service, and prep can flow interchangeably at any given moment

Responsibilities

Provide an exceptional guest experience that represents the Fulcrum brand

Prepare drinks and food according to recipes (often change seasonally - we do house-made syrups)

Use cafe equipment according to safety protocols (espresso machine, oven, dishwasher, etc.)

Follow food safety and sanitation best practices

Daily cleaning and stocking

Experience

1+ years of customer service

1+ years of working in coffee preferred, but we are more than happy to train someone that we feel is a good fit

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old

Weekend and holiday availability

Ability to lift 20+ pounds and use a ladder to restock items
