Additionally, certifications in food and beverage safety training and alcohol awareness programs, like the ServSafe Alcohol certification, are typically required. Prior to becoming a Bar Staffer, a person may have roles such as a Bar Back or Bar Assistant, where they support bartenders and learn the ropes of the profession.
