Host Jobs in New York
In the Hospitality Service industry, a Host is essentially the first point of contact for guests and ensures their dining experience starts on a positive note. Before becoming a Host, an individual may have held roles such as a Waiter or Waitress, gaining firsthand experience in customer service and understanding the operations of a dining establishment. Another possible role is that of a Receptionist in a hotel or similar establishment, where skills like dealing with diverse customers, managing bookings, and coordinating with other staff are relevant. Some hosts may also have worked as a Customer Service Representative, developing their communication and problem-solving skills. Depending on the establishment's requirements, Hosts may need certifications like the ServSafe Food Handler certificate or a similar food-service license.
