Apolonia Restaurant , Chef Stephen Gillanders Michelin-awarded restaurant in the South Loop, is hiring a Bartender to join its FOH team!

The 120-seater is located at 105 E Cermark Rd , near McCormick Place and Wintrust Arena. Its on the ground floor of a tri-branded Hilton Hotel that opened in 2018.

Bar program is The Bartenders priorities and responsibilities are to exceed our guest's expectations by providing them with the highest level of professional, consistent, and courteous service. Primary duties include:

  • Uphold the Apolonia Restaurant values and mission while performing responsibilities
  • Inform guests of specials, menu changes, answer questions regarding food, beverages and allergies
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and relay to kitchen staff using a POS system
  • Applying culinary techniques while preparing garnishes, syrups, infusions, etc
  • Prepare cocktails, and pour wine and beer in a timely manner
  • Present, open and pours wine and beer when serving guests
  • Stock the bar as needed
  • Effectively open and close the bar per Apolonias procedures and standards
  • Assist support team with stocking work stations, removing and resetting used dishes/silverware
  • Treat every guest, employee, and vendor with respect
  • Report to work timely, presentable, and in proper uniform
  • Promote teamwork within the restaurant, creating a positive work environment
  • Properly execute all necessary steps of service
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant at all times
  • Perform other job related activities as required or assigned by the manager
  • Maintain accurate financial records of the shift, including all discounts and comps
  • Respond positively to guest's requests with a sense of urgency
  • Execute daily side work with enthusiasm and motivation
  • Check with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their experience and meal
  • Assist in opening/closing procedures and daily operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies.
  • Address guest concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Communicate effectively with both FOH and BOH teams.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Compensation: Hourly ($11.02) plus tips
