WHAT YOULL DO

The primary responsibility of the Lounge Server is to ensure complete customer satisfaction while serving beverages to guest in the Lounge to ensure an enjoyable stay. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the companys policies and procedures.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Greets and welcomes all guests in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Initiates conversation with guests, while presenting menus, answering questions, and making suggestions.
  • Request primary beverage order in a timely friendly and courteous manner.
  • Actively take orders, give suggestions, conduct full and complete wine/beverage service, and monitor guests experience.
  • Keep assigned areas clean and clear of glasses, bottles, etc.
  • Continuously seek service opportunities.
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints.
  • Exhibit proper knowledge of menu items, wine lists, including ingredients, and preparation of cocktails, selling techniques and service delivery of all menu items.
  • Answer guest questions and possess knowledge about property events and attractions.
  • Perform all side work at the assigned station, including stocking, cleaning and resetting of station.
  • Provide fast (20 minutes or less round time), friendly, professional beverage service to lounge guests; carry full trays on every round.
  • Take drink orders, communicate with the bartender, assist in the preparation of drinks, and present drinks to guests.
  • Ring and itemize bills correctly, efficiently secure payment and handle money according to procedures.
  • Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to guidelines.
  • Serve as an ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appear in publicity photos.
  • Promote casino events and programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the Rio Rewards teams to promote new card sign-up programs.
  • Work well with others, especially servers, bartenders, barbacks, the beverage management.
  • Provide personalized service and use guests' names.
  • Resolve service problems according to guidelines.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One-year previous high volume cocktail experience
  • Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer and craft cocktails.
  • Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and scheduled shift.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Work requires knowledge of tray service and cocktail ingredients.
  • Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

PREFERRED

  • Minimum of one-year customer service experience in a previous position, where the primary job duty is direct customer service.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up 30 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust, and smoke.
